Yes..the Office of Rejuvin8 can be a number of places...this weekend just past it was the Mingara Track at Tumbi Umbi..( I love that name )...fortunate enough that the rain held off...and that I was strong enough to endure and perform in four events..the 60m sprint against the teenagers in which I placed 2nd....then the first of two 100m runs...the first I came second to Brett Reid...a fantastic Beach Sprinter...backed up almost immediately then for my second 100m...which I was fortunate enough to win...then the 4 x 200m relay which my team won...and then to warm down...and have a little fun I opted to help the club gain a few points by trying my hand at the high jump which I managed with some good coaching by Matt Horsnell ( high jump coach ) to jump 1.35 meters...so with absolutely no training it was a pretty good effort...but don't worry I won't suddenly give up sprinting for the High Jump...I'll leave that to the guys who can really do it...but it was enormous fun.
My Sons came up on the Saturday night and stayed till Sunday afternoon which was great...We have a lot of fun and its great for the Soul to be with the ones you love...
Next weekend I will be competing at the Olympic Center at Homebush in the 100m...from now on the Season tends to hot up...with competition happening virtually every weekend...its up to my coaches Wayne Luckey and Larry Spencer
to determine whether I should run or not...of course it has to do with injury and injury maintainence....sometimes getting up in the morning is hard...but ...in the end...it comes down to perserverence...only you can get you to where you want to go....one step in front of the other....

RUNNING ON A FULL TANK
On the Week end if you've been following my Blog...I ran in the New South Wales Relay Championships...It was a Fantastic Week End....the Weather was Beautiful and the Atmosphere was Brilliant...Hundreds of Athletes from all over the State were there to Enjoy...to Re-knew Friendships...and to stand in Awe at some of the performances...Nick Bromley (Australian Commonwealth Games Rep ) had a fantastic run against David Geddes ( Australian Olympic Rep.Athens ) in the 4x400m relay...it was a great race...
You know the great thing about Relay's?....its Team...everyone is cheering for their Team...there is a tremendous sense of comraderie..Everyone is involved...the people watching are as excited in cheering as those participating....
Imagine what this is going to be like when the World Masters Games kicks off in October in 2009!!!!....Australia does not know it yet...but this is going to be without doubt the biggest sporting spectacular to hit our shores since the Olympics of 2000...Next year will see a full publicity onslaught by the New South Wales Government...the Department of Tourism for N.S.W..and of course the World Masters Games Organizing Committee....In concert they will produce something the World really needs right now...a sense of Coming Together...Uniting...Rejoicing!

THE TRACK SEASON HEATS UP
Here we are in November....with Four Months of Competition to go before the National Championships in March and this weekend the New South Wales State Relay Championships are on!!! Two days of intense competition...Four Men ...running for their club...each with an ambition to win....but....a Relay at High Speed is an Exciting event...Once the Gun goes...there are nine teams...everyone wants to win...there is great rivalry...but also great friendship and fun....
Running a Relay is like trying to feed an egg to a baby while riding on horse back and trying not to spill the egg or drop the baby....its a real tough act.....
Of course I'm thrilled to be running alongside World Champion Chris Mc.Cormick and other great champions...they are good friends and I am really glad that at the moment I am not carrying any major injuries...
Also from my viewpoint I'm at the beginning of a very beautiful personal relationship and I am over the moon...which makes it all the better because the Energy Field that Surrounds me is radiating and I feel that I can run to the moon and back....which is pretty crazy considering I'm a sprinter...I'll have to put on my Acme Rocket Shoes!
Beautiful Energy is available to all...we just have to recognise it when it presents itself and have no fears...no inhibitions...just Go For It....This weekend thats exactly what I intend to do.....
World Masters Games Sydney 2009 is counting down...It is going to be fantastic...unbelievable...and for Sydney ...the Greatest Sporting Event since the Olympic Games....

OVERCOMING HARDSHIP
EVERY DAY I AM CONFRONTED WITH HARDSHIP IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER...EITHER ITS PEOPLE WHO I KNOW OR PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY KNOW ME..THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE SUFFERING IN THIS WORLD...PEOPLE TALK TO ME ABOUT THEIR PERSONAL SITUATION BECAUSE THEY FEEL THAT I WILL LISTEN...AND PERHAPS HAVE A SOLUTION TO THEIR PARTICULAR PROBLEM...
GENERALLY LISTENING IS ONE OF MY FORTES...I DO LISTEN...I HAVE IN FACT LEARNED MUCH FROM LISTENING TO OTHERS...ABOUT LIFE...ABOUT THE HUMAN CONDITION...ABOUT MY OWN PERSONAL STRUGGLE TO STAY YOUNG AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
I WORK EVERY DAY AND I WORK HARD AT STRIVING TO LEARN...TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE...TO SEE HOW FAR I CAN PUSH MY BODY...THIS 61 YEAR OLD BODY...WHY?...WHAT FOR?....IS THERE AN ULTIMATE PURPOSE?
YES..UNEQUIVOCABLY.. I SWEAT IT OUT AT THE GYM 2 TO 3 DAYS A WEEK...I POUND THE RUNNING TRACK WITH TWO COACHES PICKING APART EVERY TWITCH OF MY BODY...DEMANDING MORE...PUSHING FOR MORE...STRIVING FOR THE ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE...EVERY MOMENT IS ANALYSED..THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE.I RUN FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T....I DEPRIVE MYSELF OF SOME OF LIFE'S SIMPLE PLEASURES...I RARELY EAT CHOCOLATE..EVEN THOUGH I LIKE IT...I LOVE POTATO CRISPS...BUT I DON'T EAT THEM....I WOULD LOVE A GLASS OF WINE OR TWO...BUT I RARELY EMBIBE.....I MAKE SACRIFICES NOT BECAUSE I WANT TO BE THE FASTEST MAN ON THE PLANET...BUT BECAUSE THE RESEARCH ON MY BODY IS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO YOU SOME DAY....MAYBE SOONER THAN YOU THINK.

KEEPING MY EYE ON THE BALL
ITS AN INTERESTING OBSERVATION AS WE GET OLDER US BABY BOOMERS ...THAT SOMEHOW WE ENTER THE ROLE REVERSAL PHASE OF OUR LIVES...WHEN WE WERE BABY'S..OUR MOTHERS LOOKED AFTER US..NOURISHED US...CARED FOR US ....FED US ...CHANGED OUR NAPPIES..ETC..ETC..
TODAY THAT ROLE HAS CHANGED FOR ME...AND NO DOUBT FOR MANY MANY OTHERS....I HAVE THE HONOURED ROLE OF SOLE CARER FOR MY DEAR MOTHER WHO IS NOW EIGHTY YEARS OLD...SHE'S NOT THE SPRIGHTLY EIGHTY YEAR OLD GRANNY YOU SEE SITTING IN THE PARK FEEDING THE PIDGEONS....SHE IS BED
RIDDEN...ALTZHIMERS...DEMENTIA....BOWEL CANCER...ALL HAVE TAKEN THEIR TOLL AND THE ONCE BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMAN HAS BEEN RELEGATED TO A HELL OF SECLUSION IN A BED AS A WRINKLED OLD LADY WHERE SADLY SHE DOES NOT WANT TO BE...SOME DAYS SHE WONDERS THE HOUSE CALLING MY NAME OR THE NAME OF MY FARTHER NOW SINCE GONE OR THAT OF MY SON WHO DIED NINE YEARS AGO...ITS A SAD SAD END TO A WONDERFUL JOURNEY.

AN EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER
Well in a Blinding Flash the Australasian Masters Games is over for Me....I travelled to the Beautiful City of Adelaide with Rod Dowler GM for the WORLD MASTERS GAMES on Thursday checking in to the Magnificent Stamford Plaza Hotel......a Brisk walk over to the Registration Center to check in and get my Accreditation Papers for my 100m Race the next day and of course to soak up the fantastic Atmosphere which IS the Australasian Masters Games....The Electricity literally crackled at the Center...people of all ages shapes and sizes hustling and bustling and passing through the system like clockwork...the Volunteers in their Fab uniforms stood out like the proverbial...and their Organization was " Top Shelf "....I was amazed...
I had some pleasant duties to perform in my capacity as Ambassador for the WORLD MASTERS GAMES meeting and greeting the hundreds of participants and supporters Hungry for information about the 2009 Games in Sydney...the WMG stall ably staffed by the Bubbly Personalities of Kelly and Louise who literally " shone " like a Beacon for all those who approached...
The Next Day.(My competition day) was at the magnificently prepared and groomed Santos Stadium on a beautiful Sunny Adelaide Morning...a huge congratulations for the Tireless Efforts of the Ground Staff and Officials...You See...I told you ...by Participating...You are All Winners...and Adelaide...you put on your finest show.
My 100m event was most enjoyable...Fast...but Enjoyable...I came second to Peter Crombie...just back from the World's in Italy...so He was Pumping...What an Athlete...It was His Day....and I was there to help him Celebrate it....I was thrilled to have overcome a longstanding stress fracture in my right foot and to be able to offer some competition for Peter....I'm really looking forward to Working with My Coaches Wayne Luckey and Larry Spencer...to sharpen up my speed over the next couple of Months before the National Championships in Sydney in March...A huge thanks to Goran Barron my Physio who has put in so much tireless work on my body to get me to Adelaide in One Piece....
All in All...the P.R...was so well orgnized...with Rachael and Lachlan from Australasian Masters Games making this one of the most memorable and pleasant experiences I have had in a lot of years...and my Love and Best Wishes for a safe journey home for Aaron...You Wonderful Kiwi....maybe if I'm lucky I'll be invited to visit your Magnificent Land of the Great White Cloud...
Also I must mention Judith Dixon from the " Alice "...yes it would be an honour for me to visit Alice Springs...It would have to be one of the Great Must Do's...in my future intenary..thank you and great to have met you...

I had some pleasant duties to perform in my capacity as Ambassador for the WORLD MASTERS GAMES meeting and greeting the hundreds of participants and supporters Hungry for information about the 2009 Games in Sydney...the WMG stall ably staffed by the Bubbly Personalities of Kelly and Louise who literally " shone " like a Beacon for all those who approached...
The Next Day.(My competition day) was at the magnificently prepared and groomed Santos Stadium on a beautiful Sunny Adelaide Morning...a huge congratulations for the Tireless Efforts of the Ground Staff and Officials...You See...I told you ...by Participating...You are All Winners...and Adelaide...you put on your finest show.
My 100m event was most enjoyable...Fast...but Enjoyable...I came second to Peter Crombie...just back from the World's in Italy...so He was Pumping...What an Athlete...It was His Day....and I was there to help him Celebrate it....I was thrilled to have overcome a longstanding stress fracture in my right foot and to be able to offer some competition for Peter....I'm really looking forward to Working with My Coaches Wayne Luckey and Larry Spencer...to sharpen up my speed over the next couple of Months before the National Championships in Sydney in March...A huge thanks to Goran Barron my Physio who has put in so much tireless work on my body to get me to Adelaide in One Piece....
All in All...the P.R...was so well orgnized...with Rachael and Lachlan from Australasian Masters Games making this one of the most memorable and pleasant experiences I have had in a lot of years...and my Love and Best Wishes for a safe journey home for Aaron...You Wonderful Kiwi....maybe if I'm lucky I'll be invited to visit your Magnificent Land of the Great White Cloud...
Also I must mention Judith Dixon from the " Alice "...yes it would be an honour for me to visit Alice Springs...It would have to be one of the Great Must Do's...in my future intenary..thank you and great to have met you...
