The End is but the Beginning

As you all know...YOU my WORLD SUPPORT TEAM have been beside me through thick and thin...through elation and pain...so much so that I now look at the end of the Season at which I have completed 6 months of competition...24 weekends.....roughly 30 Races over that period!! In retrospect this has been a great Season....Undefeated over the 100m....Fastest Time in the World for the 100m!....Fastest Time in the World for the 200m!.....Yes I can probably say and you may agree with me that its been a good year.

WHERE TO NOW?......Well as I now have to deal with my two injuries....the Specialist has advised strongly that I do not compete tomorrow in the New South Wales State Championships...My right shoulder has a tendon that has been torn off the bone...so I have been competing for the last four months with this injury!....How I managed to break the NEW SOUTH WALES COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS RECORD is a source of wonder and a great tribute to your encouragement....thank you all.

I will be upgrading this Blog with details of my recovery and training for the World Championships in Italy in September....so stay tuned.....lots of good things are happening and you will be able to connect to exactly what I'm doing.....its going to be exciting.....

Live Brilliantly until next we meet.....John

Will I make it to the Starting Line?

Its been an amazing journey so far....I have been carrying major injuries now for three months...working at them to try and rectify the situation...if you have been following this Blog you will know that I have been having treatment from a number of sources to bring me back to top form for the New South Wales Athletics Championships on the 24th and 25th of March.

How will I be able to do this....to compete at the Elite level for the last time this Season?...How can I perform at the Maximum when I can't even bend down to get into the starting blocks?....The Situation seems Impossible.....To achieve just getting to the starting line will be a tall order....To Win a Medal is asking too much....It will take a supreme human effort within my Mind to overcome the illusions of injury that I face now....All I want is to make it to the starting line....My Body will do the rest.....When the Gun goes....BANG!....my whole body pain illusion will dissappear and I will blast down the track for the 100m and Win!

I know what youre thinking...He's Crazy...He'll Never make it....

But youre forgetting one thing....YOU....MY WORLD SUPPORT TEAM....You will be there in spirit...urging me on....behind me when I stand behind my Starting Blocks waiting for the Starter to Fire the Gun....YOU WILL BE THERE.

Be Brilliant....and Be With Me.....John

Recovery

Every time I lay my body on the line on a Running Track whether its Training or Competition there is an element of Risk...At the Elite level...if I may draw the analogy between an Elite Athlete and a Thoroughbred Horse the body is finely tuned...every tendon...ligament...muscle is put to the test and pushed to the limits....Normally if a horse bow's a tendon in a race...they either put it down or spell it indefinitely...

With an Athlete...putting us down is not an option....thank goodness..Instead we have various options that hopefully get us back into shape ready for competition again however far down the track it may be.

The Risk taking is not an option...its just part of another day at the office...I have to do this...to take the Risk...but to prepare as well as possible to ensure that the Risk is minimised...Strength...Flexibility...Endurance...Speed...its all part of the process...

In a way its like any day at any office anywhere in the world....when you go to work...you better make damn sure you can last the distance....to go the hard yards...and hopefully ....to bring home the bacon....or the Gold Medal....its all the same....Proper Planning..Prevents...P---Poor Performance....

I'm back...my leg injury is nearly 100% so on the 24th March I will line up for the New South Wales State 100m Final....only time will tell ....Stick with me My World Support Team....

and LIVE BRILLIANTLY !
